As equipment needs escalated due to route expansions Amtrak assigned a pair of their own newly delivered F59PHI units to the San Joaquin. Accelerating past BNSF 3028 in Riverbank Yard is Amtrak 455 in it's new Surfliner paint. Once Amtrak vacated BNSF's Riverbank depot the railroad pulled up the concrete station platforms, erasing all signs that the site once hosted a passenger train.
