This
page chronicles what is believed to be Tidewater Southern's all-time locomotive
roster. The roster is more or less complete, except for up-to-date
to unit dispositions. If anyone has this information (and can corroborate
it) I would like to hear from you. While I invite corrections, I must insist
that the "corrector" qualify his or her correction by naming the information
source. Thanks.

The majority of information was gleaned from a roster printed in the January 1974 issue of Pacific News (which later became Pacific Railnews, r.i.p.) and the December 1956 issue of the Pacific Railway Journal (volume 1, issue 12) entitled Electric Railroading In Central California. Additional pieces of information were collected from long-time Tidewater historian Guy Dunscomb along with Arthur Lloyd, and Joe Strapac's excellent Western Pacific Diesel Years.
And a very special thanks to Jeff Moreau who took time out from his own work with Dave Stanley on their Central California Traction Co. book to research a piece of nitty-gritty information concerning the Tidewater's Jewett cars. Not much has been docunmented about these cars and finding particulars can be difficult. If anyone else has pertinent information or photographs that can be shared, I'd love to hear from you.
