Touring The Shops

On June 10, 1953 Central Coast Railway Club toured the Bayshore shops and terminal facilities. The group visited the passenger car shops, where equipment ranging from former T&NO passenger cars undergoing heavy overhaul to Daylight coaches being renovated. This was followed by a tour of Bayshore Roundhouse where a cab forward was undergoing heavy maintenance and repair.

From the roundhouse the group moved to the locomotive shop where four 2-10-2s were in the process of receiving complete overhauls. The day ended with the group visiting the rip track where a large number of dead steam locomotives were being stored in the yard prior to being sold for scrap.
